Outpatient Services
Our outpatient services are designed to help people in many different ways – meeting them where they are, with what they need, right now. We serve adults, youth, and children who are in need of services to support their mental wellness.
For New Clients
Open Access Every Week
Norfolk
- MONDAY 12 – 5 PM
- WEDNESDAY 8 AM – 1 PM
- FRIDAY 8 AM – 1 PM
Columbus
- WEDNESDAY 8:30 AM – 1 PM
The Well offers Open Access hours for individuals who would like to walk in and connect with outpatient services without scheduling an appointment in advance.
During Open Access, individuals can receive a substance use assessment, access community support services, or crisis response support as needed. Individuals may also attend a walk-in counseling session, even if they are not currently a client at The Well. New clients are welcome.
Please note that mental health assessments are not completed during Open Access hours and must still be scheduled in advance. However, individuals who are planning to schedule a mental health assessment are welcome to stop in during Open Access to complete intake paperwork, which can help speed up the scheduling process.
Open Access is intended to make it easier for individuals in our community to quickly connect with support and begin the process of receiving care.

Complete abstinence from substances is not required to participate in this program, though we do require that you are not under the influence on the days that you attend group. If you are having trouble abstaining from substances, ask us about our Contingency Management Program.
Our programs recognize each person as unique and deserving of services tailored to their own strengths and capabilities. While our standard IOPs are gender-focused, we can accommodate people across the entire gender identity spectrum. Special topics include relationships, trauma, body image and family roles.
We support involvement in 12-Step programs, but our program also supports alternatives to the 12 Steps, including Women for Sobriety, Rational Recovery, Celebrate Recovery, SMART Recovery, and Refuge Recovery. Ultimately, each person is the driver of their own recovery, and we believe in their ability to determine the best route to get there.
