Meet Dana Wockenfuss, the Director of Development & Advocacy at The Well, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for making a positive impact. Originally from Colorado Springs, Dana holds a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Hospitality, Restaurant, and Tourism Management, specializing in event planning, with a minor in Leadership and Communication. Her professional journey encompasses 15 years of expertise in event coordination, catering, sales, marketing, and entrepreneurial ventures, reflecting her versatility and dedication.

Dana’s ‘why’ in her role at The Well stems from a desire for meaningful work, shifting from the for-profit world to focus on providing essential services for our community. The Well’s inclusive team and core values resonate with Dana, making it a fulfilling environment where her skills and energy contribute to a greater cause. She was fortunate enough to join our team in time to go through the process of renaming and rebranding our agency. Nothing lights her up quite like a fresh brand with a meaningful, impactful story. She is READY to get The Well, and all the good we do out into our community.

In her personal life, Dana is a passionate advocate for women’s health, particularly in the prenatal and postpartum phases. Her role at The Well has allowed her to delve into advocacy, exploring new dimensions within her field. Dana’s family includes her husband, Blake, a high school Assistant Principal, and their energetic 3-year-old. Beyond her advocacy work, Dana finds joy in travel, music, vegetarian food and enthusiastically tackles home renovation projects. She lives by two mottos: “Wherever you find yourself, always leave it better” and “Quality over Quantity.”

Fun Fact: Dana is known for her eco-impact mindset, using only glass water bottles and food containers. In her second “fun” photo, Dana is proudly wearing her “Free the Midwives” shirt, supporting the movement to decriminalize non-licensed midwives from attending home births in Nebraska. She is also a fierce ally for LGBTQIA+ human rights.
