The Well Earns Certified Recovery Friendly Workplace — Leading the Way in Nebraska

We’re proud to share that The Well is officially a Certified Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW)! Only the second organization in Nebraska to receive this designation.

This certification, led by the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services, recognizes workplaces that actively promote recovery, reduce stigma, and create environments where people impacted by substance use and mental health challenges feel supported.

For us, this recognition simply affirms what we’ve always believed… That people come first, and when you create a space where every individual’s journey is respected and supported, everyone thrives.

Creating a Workplace That Works for People

Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation — it happens in communities that believe in a better future and are willing to take

bold steps to make it real. At The Well, we are intentionally building our community every day, inside and outside our walls.

Becoming a Recovery Friendly Workplace means ensuring our team members can show up authentically, knowing they’ll be met with understanding, flexibility, and the right kind of support. It means we’re willing to rethink old rules and redesign workplace norms so they actually work for real people — not just on paper.

Certified Recovery Friendly Workplace

Why It Matters for Our Team and Community

For our team, this certification is more than a plaque on the wall. It’s a promise, a promise that we’ll keep challenging outdated approaches, keep creating systems that elevate everyone’s experience, and keep imagining new ways to support wellness in the workplace.

For our community, it’s a signal that we see recovery as a strength, not a deep dark secret to keep hidden. We know that a thriving workforce is built on hope, generosity, humility, and inclusivity — and we’re committed to leading with those qualities every day.

Looking Ahead

Being one of the first in Nebraska to achieve Recovery Friendly Workplace certification puts us in a position to help shape what’s next — not just for The Well, but for workplaces across the state. We’re excited to share our journey, support other organizations as they consider the path, and continue building a workplace where healing and belonging are part of the everyday experience.
