The Well’s Board of Directors Updates

We have several changes to The Well’s Board of Directors to announce!

Resignations

The Board has two members who have reached their term limit of eight years of service to our organization. We also had one resignation due to the board member joining The Well’s team!

Cheryl Timm was The Well’s Board President, serving as a member since 2017. She brought a wealth of experience and commitment to education and community development. Holding a Master’s degree in Family & Consumer Sciences from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Cheryl spent over 35 years in various educational roles that shaped her into a versatile and compassionate educator. Her diverse background included serving as a Cooperative Extension Educator at UNL, a Secondary Education Teacher, an Adjunct College Instructor, an Early Childhood Care Provider, and a Youth Leadership Advisor.

Cheryl was driven by a personal connection to the mission of The Well. Having experienced the positive effects of an organization similar to The Well in supporting her family member’s recovery, she understands the importance of such organizations.

Cheryl’s ‘why’ in being a part of The Well’s mission stemmed from her desire to give back and be instrumental in helping others on their journey to recovery. She was passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive community where everyone, regardless of their background or status, should have a seat at the table and a voice that is heard.

We want to thank her for her tremendous support, time and energy she spent helping The Well grow to where we are today. Cheryl, your leadership and thoughtful guidance will be missed by our team and Board.

Matthew McManigal joined The Well’s Board of Directors in 2017. He holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and has a wealth of experience spanning thirteen years in the criminal justice system. His professional journey was dedicated to working with justice-involved individuals grappling with substance use and mental health challenges. This extensive background positioned Matthew as a valuable asset in supporting The Well’s mission and addressing the complex needs of the individuals we serve. Matthew also served on our Finance Committee.

Matthew’s ‘why’ he served as a member of our board was his drive to be a part of a program that had a profoundly positive impact on its clients and the community. This commitment to making a difference aligned with The Well’s purpose, creating an environment that fostered positive change and growth.  His commitment to connection and support aligned seamlessly with The Well’s values, emphasizing the importance of community and relationships in the process of healing.

Our team and Board of Directors are grateful for Matthew’s service to our organization. His perspective, uplifting energy, and jokes were a wonderful addition to our agency. Thank you Matt!

Daphyne Alley, a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS), has been actively involved in the field of co-occurring individuals since 2014. Her dedication and experience make her a valuable asset to The Well’s mission, bringing a unique perspective as she used to be a member of our team!

Daphyne’s ‘why’ in being a part of The Well’s mission is rooted in her desire to empower both staff and those being served. She envisions providing the necessary tools for individuals to reclaim control over their lives, fostering a sense of empowerment and self-efficacy. Daphyne’s commitment to The Well reflects her belief in the transformative potential of support and the positive impact it can have on individuals and the community at large.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Daphyne is fueled by a passion for recovery. As a Peer Support Specialist, she finds fulfillment in sharing her insights and witnessing the transformative power of hope in others’ eyes. Outside of work, Daphyne revels in the joys of camping and cherishes the role of being a grandma, celebrating the simple pleasures of family bonds.

Daphyne joined The Well’s Board of Directors in 2023, and although we will miss her energy and positive influence on our Board of Directors, we are THRILLED to have her as a team member serving the people in our care.

New Executive Committee Appointments

With two of our veteran board members moving on, The Well’s Board of Directors voted in two new Executive Committee members.

Vicki Blattert is a retired Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) and is The Well’s new Board of Directors President!  Vicki brings a wealth of experience and expertise to The Well’s Board of Directors, serving since 2019. She retired as the Quality Improvement (QI) professional for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. Vicki’s background includes a Master’s of Science in Education and a significant tenure as a dedicated English teacher. Her credentials underscore her commitment to continuous learning and growth, a foundation that enriches her contribution as a board member.

Vicki’s commitment to mental health extends beyond her retirement, as evidenced by her role as a mental health counselor. Her involvement with The Well is driven by a keen awareness of the need for mental health services in the community. This sense of purpose aligns with her position on the Board of the Elkhorn Valley Museum, showcasing her dedication to both historical preservation and contemporary community well-being. Vicki’s ‘why’ is deeply rooted in her belief in the transformative power of mental health services, and her multifaceted background equips her to contribute meaningfully to The Well’s mission.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Vicki’s personal life reflects a deep sense of compassion and community engagement. She channels her energies into volunteering for Faith Regional Health Services Hospice, providing support to those in need during challenging times. We are excited for Vicki’s continued support of our organization!

Brandy Boschult, a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP), brings over a decade of experience as a Mental Health Practitioner and nearly two decades in the human services field to The Well’s Board of Directors, joining in 2023. Brandy has been appointed as The Well’s Vice President of the Board of Directors! Her expertise lies in serving individuals and families grappling with mental health and substance abuse issues. With a solid background in the behavioral health sector, Brandy comprehends the unique challenges organizations in behavioral health face in breaking down barriers to accessing services and sustaining vital programs.

Brandy’s ‘why’ in serving on The Well’s Board is deeply rooted in her passion for aiding individuals on their journey to recovery from substance use and mental health disorders. Believing in the potential of every individual to lead a healthy and productive life, she recognizes the barriers that hinder access to necessary resources. Brandy is dedicated to advocating for individual needs and providing the essential resources to empower others in their recovery, enabling them to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.

Brandy has served on several committees and has personally baked goodies for our monthly team member appreciation! We can’t wait to see what else she will impact as she serves on our Executive Committee!
